BYD's new car ro-ro transport ship "Hefei" has completed its sea trials. It is reported that,The "Hefei", carefully built by Guangzhou Shipyard International for BYD (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., is a ro-ro car transport ship with 7,000 parking spaces and dual-fuel technology. Its hull is 199.9 meters long and 38 meters wide. It is not only large in scale, but also incorporates a number of cutting-edge environmentally friendly technologies into its design.

In the face of the continuous strengthening of global environmental protection regulations and urgent market needs, the "Hefei" innovatively adopted a dual-fuel propulsion system of natural gas (LNG) and oil, which significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

A total of two ships of this series were originally planned to be built, and the "Hefei", with its design draft of 9 meters and a speed of 18.5 knots, will undoubtedly stand out among similar ship types and demonstrate strong market competitiveness.

In addition, in order to further improve the ship's operational efficiency and environmental performance, "Hefei" is also equipped with an advanced domestic battery system and a permanent magnet shaft-holding shaft generator, and has successfully obtained the ammonia (ready) classification symbol certification from the DNV classification society.

It is worth mentioning that just at the beginning of this month, BYD's second ro-ro ship "Changzhou" was successfully delivered and put into operation. Currently, the "Changzhou" is fully loaded with nearly 5,000 BYD new energy vehicles, departing from Lianyungang and Taicang Port in Jiangsu and heading to the European market.
