At 15:17 today, my country used the Long March 2D carrier rocket/Yuanzheng 3 upper stage at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The high-speed laser diamond constellation test system was successfully launched into space, and the five satellites successfully entered the predetermined orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.
According to reports, the Long March 2D carrier rocket and the Yuanzheng 3 upper stage were both developed by the Eighth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
The Long March-2D carrier rocket has the ability to launch into different orbits from the three satellite launch centers of Jiuquan, Taiyuan and Xichang. Its 700-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit has a carrying capacity of 1.3 tons.
The Yuanzheng-3 upper stage is called the "space bus" and has the capability of more than 20 independent fast-orbit maneuver deployments. It is mainly used for off-orbit multi-satellite deployment missions.
The mission profile is complex. During the orbit transfer process, since the satellites "sitting" in different positions have to "get off" in sequence, the upper stage and satellite assembly are in a state of large lateral center of mass deviation.
To this end, the "Space Bus" uses the adaptive capability of the center of mass of the control system and the two-way swing capability of the main engine to steadily deliver "passengers" to different destinations. After completing its mission, the "space bus" ignited again and actively deorbited.
This mission is the 551st flight of the Long March series of launch vehicles.
