MacKenzie Scott, the American philanthropist and ex-wife of Amazon founder Bezos, disclosed on Wednesday that she has donated $2 billion to 199 organizations this year, bringing her total donations over the past few years to $19.3 billion. In a statement on her YieldGiving website, Scott said about 75% of the organizations receiving the latest donations "support economic security and opportunity for people living in poverty" through improved housing, employment, education, health care and low-interest loans.

Earlier this year, Scott sold 45 million shares of Amazon stock. As of September 30, the shares were worth approximately $8.4 billion.

Scott, 54, divorced Bezos in 2019 and is currently worth $40.3 billion. She still owns 139 million shares of Amazon stock.
