Apple updated its official homepage today to commemorate former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away yesterday at the age of 100. Carter, who served as the longest-lived president in U.S. history from 1977 to 1981, focused on human rights and diplomacy through the Carter Center, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002.

Carter is also a major advocate and participant in the non-profit organization Habitat for Humanity.

Apple CEO Tim Cook also expressed his condolences to Carter on Twitter on Sunday.

Today, we remember President Carter's life's work and his commitment to leaving the world a better place than he found it. May he rest in peace.
