The OnePlus 13R will be officially released on January 7 at the OnePlus 13 global launch event, and so far, most rumors suggest that it will be a facelift of the OnePlus Ace 5 released in China a few days ago. This is mainly because OnePlus12R is a rebrand of OnePlusAce3.
However, since OnePlus has confirmed that the battery capacity of the 13R is lower than that of the Ace5, the plot is even more confusing. Today, a new rumor suggests another difference between the two - the 13R will allegedly feature a telephoto camera.
Specifically, it is said that the 13R will use a 50-megapixel main camera equipped with a Sony LytiaLYT-700 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera (2x optical zoom) equipped with a Samsung ISOCELLJN5 sensor. The front selfie function will be taken care of by a 16-megapixel camera.
Aside from the telephoto, all of the Ace5's other cameras are the same, swapped out for a cosmetic 2-megapixel macro sensor. So, if this rumor is true, the international OnePlus 13R will be a step up from the Chinese Ace5 in terms of camera, while, as mentioned earlier, it will sacrifice some battery capacity for whatever reason.
