At the 2025 US Consumer Electronics Show (CES2025), Anker launched its first solar-powered beach umbrella, which is designed to be used outdoors to charge electronic devices such as coolers or mobile phones. The new umbrella is part of Anker's SOLIX range of products, which includes energy-efficient products such as portable power stations and solar generators for powering home appliances during power outages and emergencies.
While there are many solar beach umbrellas on the market, Anker’s product stands out due to its use of perovskite solar cells. According to the company, the cells perform 30% better in bright light and are twice as efficient in low light compared to traditional crystalline silicon solar cells. Like any solar-powered device, these umbrellas also help reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Plus, it makes a handy addition to your beach day packing list.
Anker released this umbrella and several other new products at the 2025 U.S. Consumer Electronics Show (CES2025), including the second-generation EverFrost refrigerator and a karaoke speaker with artificial intelligence voice removal function. The company likely hopes customers will see the umbrella as a complementary accessory for electronics coolers, since it can be connected to the cooler to power it. Alternatively, it can be mounted on a separate base.
The umbrella provides 80 watts of power to portable devices via the USB-C port. It can also power an EverFrost2 or other compatible device via the XT-60 connection, which connects power from the battery to a motor or other electronic device.
Anker did not reveal the price of the beach umbrella, but it is expected to be available in the spring or summer.
