Alt, the operating system independently developed by Russian company BasaltSPO, has now officially added support for China's independent Loongson CPU processor. This is also the first Russian operating system that can run on Loongson., including Loongson 3A5000, Loongson 3A6000, etc. Just recently, Loongson processors have quietly relaxed export restrictions and can enter the Russian market. Both individual users and organizations can purchase and use them freely.

The development team of BasaltSPO is very efficient. It only took 9 months to make the Alt system fully support the LoongArch dragon architecture of the Loongson processor, which is very efficient.

At the same time, the Loongson team also provided BasaltSPO with a wealth of technical documentation and other support resources, and also provided Loongson servers for testing.

The BasaltSPOAlt system is also developed based on Linux. It is pre-installed with unrestricted basic software such as GIMP, Firefox, and LibreOffice. It can be used on desktops, notebooks, workstations, servers, etc., and there will be a commercial version in the future.

The Alt system that supports Loongson now has a trial branch, which is not yet stable, and the official version will be released in the first quarter of next year.
