Samsung released the latest addition to its Galaxy S flagship smartphone series at its annual "Samsung Unpacked 2025" on Wednesday. As speculated, the distinguishing feature of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra is the company's continued focus on mobile artificial intelligence.

Galaxy S25 Ultra is the flagship of the three products. The stylus-equipped Galaxy Note successor costs $1,300, the same price as last year's model. The phone features a 6.9-inch display and four rear cameras: a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, a 200-megapixel wide-angle, and a pair of telephoto lenses with 3x and 5x optical zoom respectively.

Galaxy S25 Ultra is built with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, Snapdragon 8 Elite, and all three levels of S25 use the same chip. Samsung has once again tweaked and branded the chip, which will appear in most flagship smartphones released over the next 12 months, but it's using a custom model. Compared with the previous generation, CPU processing performance will be improved by 37%, GPU performance will be improved by 30%, and NPU (Neural Processing Unit) will have the largest improvement, reaching 40%. This is not only due to the relatively early stage of the processor, but also reflects the entire industry's focus on all artificial and intelligent things.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ can use the ProScaler artificial intelligence image "sharpening" feature, which requires QHD+ display resolution to function properly. At the same time, Snapdragon's device Vulkan engine and ray tracing capabilities also enhance game graphics performance, and device cooling is achieved by increasing the heat pipe by 40%.

At the same time, Google's artificial intelligence products have become more important in device functions. Gone are the days of quick access to Home and Bixby. In its place is Gemini, which can now be activated by simply pressing and holding the device's side button. In addition to Circle Search, which debuted on the Galaxy series, the devices also boast a variety of AI-powered writing and drawing features.

Galaxy S25 Ultra is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, 12GB of memory and 1TB of storage space. It is available in titanium silver blue, titanium silver white, titanium gray, titanium black, as well as pink, gold and green. It is only available to users who purchase directly through Samsung.

All three Galaxy S25 models are available for pre-order on Wednesday and will ship on February 7.
