With the announcement of the Debian 13 freeze date and the release of the Debian 13.0 "Trixie" version, it is likely that this version will be released around August, and development of Debian 14 (codenamed "Forky") will then begin. Yesterday, along with the announcement of the DebianTrixie freeze date, the codename for Debian15 was also announced.
Debian15 is codenamed Duke. Debian15Duke will follow Debian14Forky. Since Debian's release cycle is roughly two years, Debian 14.0 is expected to be released around 2027, while Debian 15.0 may be released around 2029.
Like previous DebianLinux codenames, Debian15's codename is also named after characters from the "Toy Story" series.
In addition to the announcement of Debian 15 "Duke" in the Trixie freeze date announcement, a DebianDukeWiki page has been set up for this future release.
