Apple will launch a new iCloud service designed to manage events and invitations. The service will be separate from the calendar and will launch "next week," Mark Gurman reported in his latest weekly podcast "OnDemand" for Bloomberg.
The service, codenamed "Confetti," will reportedly be a "new way to invite users to parties, events, and conferences."
The launch of this service is closely related to the launch of iOS 18.3, which started rolling out in the last few days of last Monday. The new invitation service has appeared in the operating system's test code and appears to be integrated into the iCloud app and will be available in a web version on iCloud.com.
What the app does is invite people to events, and users will be able to see who has responded. The app may have a "more interesting interface" compared to the Calendar app, which already has the basic functionality of inviting others to events.
