EA has announced the first official preview of the new "Battlefield" game, player testing and development team-related information. "Four studios around the world. One new visionary team: Battlefield Studios. This globally united front brings together over 20 years of Battlefield experience and the best emerging talent in the industry to shape the future of our franchise. Our ambitions are high, so we will work even harder to deliver the best gaming experience for players."

Early demo of the new "Battlefield" Pre-alpha stage:
We're still in the early stages of development, but now is the perfect time to test out everything our team has built for upcoming releases and beyond. So we are rallying a powerful force – our communities. Introducing the Battlefield Lab.
This new testing environment will be where our players and the Battlefield studio join forces to shape the future of Battlefield. You'll test combat mechanics, game modes, and more while providing us with vital feedback as part of this ultimate collaboration. Your voices will help shape our collective future. Let us build the future together.
Registration is now open. While everyone is encouraged to register, spaces are limited. "
Initial invitations will be limited to a few thousand participants, with servers located in Europe and North America. Over time, EA will invite tens of thousands of participants and support more regions.
EA announced the "Battlefield Studios" brand, which is the collective name of the four studios responsible for developing the new "Battlefield". They are: DICE, the main developer of the series in Stockholm, Sweden, Motive Studio responsible for the development of "Dead Space" remake and "Star Wars: Troopers", American studio Ripple Effect (formerly DICELA) and British studio Criterion.
Swedish DICE is responsible for developing the multiplayer mode of the new "Battlefield". Motive is responsible for single-player missions and multiplayer maps. RippleEffect is committed to attracting new players to the Battlefield series. Criterion is responsible for the single-player campaign.
Although EA dedicated four studios to developing Battlefield, last year it shut down Ridgeline Games, a Seattle-based developer working on a supposedly standalone, more story-focused single-player Battlefield game, and laid off its entire staff.
The new "Battlefield" will return to the traditional linear single-player campaign after 2021's "Battlefield 2042" only has a multiplayer mode.
EA says that all of its Battlefield studio teams are currently entering "critical" stages of the development cycle and wants to listen to player feedback to prioritize, improve, and refine the game before release. To this end, Battlefield Labs will test nearly everything, but not everything players see will be complete. Participants must agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before joining.
EA said: "Even in the pre-alpha stage, we are proud of the game's current state. We work tirelessly on playtesting, but your feedback will greatly drive our development as we strive to find the perfect balance between form, function and feel.
This is an unprecedented moment for Battlefield. We'll start by testing the core elements of the game, such as core combat and destruction. Then transitioning to balance and feedback on weapons, vehicles, and gadgets, and ultimately integrating all of these elements into our maps, modes, and squad gameplay. "
Yes, we'll be testing Conquest and Breach modes, which are the heart and soul of our Total War experience, but Battlefield Labs will also be a place to explore new ideas and fine-tune improvements to Battlefield pillars like our class system: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Scout to create deeper, more strategic gameplay. "
Last September, EA revealed new details about its untitled Battlefield game, as well as the first concept art. IGN also confirmed that "Battlefield" will return to the modern warfare background. The series has previously been involved in World War I, World War II and the near future. Concept art suggests that ship versus helicopter combat will be part of the new game, and that it will include natural disasters such as wildfires.
At the time, Respawn head and EA Studio Organization Group General Manager Vince Zampella mentioned Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 in an interview with IGN.
He said: "I mean, if you look back at the pinnacle or pinnacle of Battlefield, it was Battlefield 3... the Battlefield 4 era, everything was modern
I think we have to get back to the core of Battlefield and do that brilliantly, and then we'll see where it goes. But I think for me, that was the peak of Battlefield, during the Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 era. So I think it's nostalgic for the players, for me, and even for the team. Those were glory days... although I'd say Battlefield 1942 was too. "
The return to a modern setting represents a shakeup for the series after Battlefield 2042 finally found its footing but was widely criticized for features like its "expert" system (which made Battlefield look like it was trying to be a hero shooter). Its ambitious 128-player map was also criticized by fans who preferred a more focused experience. Battlefield 2042 eventually returned to supporting 64 players per map, and the next Battlefield game plans to stick with that approach. The expert system will also be canceled this time.
After the misstep of "Battlefield 2042", the next "Battlefield" is facing huge pressure. EA CEO Andrew Wilson called it "one of the most ambitious projects in EA's history," and judging by the number of studios involved, it's a huge investment. The slogan of "Battlefield Studios" is "We are fully committed to "Battlefield"."
"Yeah, it's definitely a bigger bet on Battlefield," Zampella said in a 2024 interview with IGN. "It's going in and expanding what Battlefield is. We have to have the core. The core Battlefield players know what they want. They've been with us and they're amazing supporters. I We need to regain their trust and get them back with us. And then it's about expanding out and bringing more players into the universe and seeing what we can do, so when you want a different experience, you don't have to leave Battlefield and you can experience more things in the Battlefield universe."
EA has yet to announce the official name, release date and landing platform of the new "Battlefield".
