During Snap's fourth-quarter earnings call on Tuesday, CEO Evan Spiegel said the uncertainty surrounding TikTok's future had a positive impact on its business.

"We don't want to draw too many conclusions from the increase in engagement during TikTok's brief lull," he said on the call. "But I think the overall environment of uncertainty is good for our business."Spotlight is one of the features that attracts users to Snapchat, the company's alternative platform to TikTok. Many creators have already joined the platform, and if TikTok goes offline again in the United States, more creators may join competing platforms. Over the past year, Snap has attracted thousands of creators to its SnapStar program, and the number of creators publishing content increased by more than 40% year-on-year in the fourth quarter.Spiegel also highlighted the growth of public content on Snapchat. He added: "In the fourth quarter, I think, we hit 1 billion pieces of public content per month on Snapchat. So the public content ecosystem is growing healthily in a really good way, so in terms of strategy and engagement, we're going to continue to focus on that."In the fourth quarter, Snap's daily active users reached 453 million, an increase of 39 million from the previous quarter. Snap's revenue was $1.55 billion, up from $1.36 billion a year earlier. The uncertainty surrounding TikTok has not only benefited Snap, but also affected the broader social media landscape, with several apps including Xiaohongshu, YouTube and Meta seeing increased user engagement.
