Both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro users have found themselves in a dilemma, with some users starting to notice small bumps and ripples appearing on the inside of the display glass. This phenomenon forming inside the glass indicates that there may be something inside the device pressing against the glass. Affected users have reported the issue to Reddit and Google forums. Thankfully, many users have also reported that they successfully obtained a replacement phone from Google.
Users also claim that these bumps do not actually hinder the performance of the device screen and are only visible under certain lighting conditions.
As you can see in the image above, you have to look very, very carefully at the Pixel 8 or 8 Pro's screen to spot bumps or ripples. Still, if you feel like this is really bothering you, you can always go for a replacement device.
It is worth noting that although Google has provided replacement services for two Pixel8 devices, the official has not commented on what may have caused the problem. Hopefully this isn't a hardware defect that requires opening the device.
Until then, if you don't like owning a Pixel 8 with a modified appearance, you can just return it and hope the problem doesn't reoccur, because if the problem is related to the construction of the device, it's likely to reoccur even with a replacement.
