A person familiar with the matter revealed a lot of details about the 2024 iPad Pro. Some of the information said that Apple will also launch a larger 14.1-inch iPad Pro, which will be equipped with a miniLED rather than an OLED panel. Other news also claims that all three tablets will use Apple's latest M3 processor as well as some new features. However, the whistleblower still reminds readers that the information shared may be rough.
Of the three iPad Pro models, MajinBu said on the X that the smaller 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions will switch to OLED, while the larger 14.1-inch version will stick to mini-LED due to its higher cost. Apple may offer ProMotion support for all three tablets, so all models may have a maximum screen refresh rate of 120Hz. Interestingly, the M3 chipset with 8GB of unified memory is said to feature a 12-core GPU. However, Apple has not yet launched the M3 equipped with a 12-core GPU. The basic SoC only has 10 cores, while the M3 Pro has 14 cores or higher.
This means that either Apple is planning to launch a new M3 variant, or such a model does not exist. The new 2024 iPad Pro series is also said to feature a 3,000-nit brightness display and support the new Apple Pencil 3 with interchangeable magnetic tips that the tipster mentioned in earlier rumors. Additionally, the long list mentions an aluminum Magic Keyboard with two USB-C ports, a MagSafe connector, and a fully software-driven Smart Island.
Although this is information about the 2024 iPad Pro series, the first person to disagree with it was Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who stated that he disagreed with the views in the report. However, Gurman's reporting errors are not unfamiliar. He has repeatedly stated that Apple's M3 MacBook Pro model will be launched in mid-2024. Apple had other plans and launched updated models as early as October 30 this year, as well as M3, M3Pro and M3Max.
