At the Second China All-Solid-State Battery Innovation and Development Summit Forum, Sun Huajun, CTO of Shenzhen BYD Lithium Battery Co., Ltd., gave a speech. Sun Huajun revealed that BYD has rolled out (pilot test) 60ah all-solid-state batteries in 2024; it will launch all-solid-state battery batch demonstration applications around 2027, and achieve large-scale on-board use after 2030.
It is understood that BYD had already invested in the research of solid-state lithium batteries as early as 2016. As early as 2022, there were rumors that BYD's solid-state lithium batteries were produced in Chongqing and were about to be loaded into vehicles for testing, but BYD said it had "no comment."
Solid-state batteries are considered the next generation technology of liquid batteries and have become an important development direction of power batteries.
Solid-state batteries have more stable electrolyte mechanical and chemical properties, and their energy density is also greatly improved, up to 4 times that of current power batteries! By then, the pure electric cruising range of the car will easily exceed 1,000km.
