According to a former Nintendo employee, Nintendo Switch 2 may be released globally in June this year, and the specific release time will be announced during a dedicated direct sales event in April. A former sales executive named Sean told the latest episode of the Kit & Krysta podcast that the system will likely be released at the beginning of the summer and the end of the school year because Nintendo wants to get kids in schools talking about the model before it's released.
Since the former employee is convinced that Nintendo wants to launch the system before the end of the summer, a June release is very likely, possibly in mid-June or slightly later than mid-June due to strategic considerations, including the ability for retailers to bundle sales during the holiday shopping season.
Sean added that if consoles miss this release window, it's because something isn't ready yet. As for price, the former Nintendo employee believes the system will sell for $400, which analysts believe will be the best price to highlight that Nintendo Switch 2 will be a better system than the previous generation without alienating its core audience.
Although the console's specs have yet to be officially confirmed, we already have a pretty good idea of how much more powerful the Nintendo Switch 2 will be than its predecessor. A better CPU, in particular, is something some game developers are looking forward to, which would solve one of the biggest problems with the original Switch's low performance.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be launched this year, and the specific release date has not yet been determined. More information about the system will be announced at the aforementioned dedicated launch event scheduled for April 2.
