Although there are still about seven months until the iPhone 17 is launched, rumors about the device continue to emerge. The latest news comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. He said in the PowerOn newsletter published over the weekend that Apple plans to highlight its improved video recording capabilities when the iPhone 17 Pro is released later this year, but he did not disclose any specific new features that may be launched.
This is what he said:
In the past few years, Apple has paid more attention to the photo-taking capabilities of its cameras. This year, it will emphasize improvements to video recording. One of the goals of the 2025 iPhone product line is to get the video community and other video creators to move away from standalone photography gear and use iPhone more to get their work done. When the new iPhones arrive in September, Apple will be promoting these video recording features more heavily than ever.
Over the years, iPhones have added video recording features including "Action Mode" for anti-shake, "Movie Mode" for shallow depth of field, and more.
Multiple sources claim that the iPhone 17 Pro models will be equipped with a redesigned rear camera system. Renderings of the iPhone 17 Pro are said to show that the back of the device is said to be equipped with a large rectangular camera module and rounded corners. The device is expected to feature three 48-megapixel rear cameras.
Gurman's communication also reiterated that Apple plans to launch its first foldable iPhone in 2026.
