The tipster Grummz discovered that after Disney, another Hollywood film and television giant, Paramount, is also giving up DEI. "Things are changing," he posted on
Reject game studios that are still holding high the banner of DEI, including Microsoft Xbox and CD Projekt Red. This situation must change.
CD Projekt Red still has scholarships for non-white people, and the art director of Microsoft-owned Obsidian Studios has said it wants to replace all white developers with people of color.
Perhaps more initiatives like this will help change these practices that are still prevalent in Western AAA studios.

Paramount is adjusting its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to comply with new directives from the Trump administration, according to media reports. The change reflects a broader trend in which some companies are responding to policy pressure from the Trump administration to curtail DEI programs through executive orders.
Specifically, Paramount's co-CEOs announced in a February 27, 2025 memo that the company will no longer set or use "aspirational numerical goals" related to the race, ethnicity, and gender of recruiters and will stop collecting race, ethnicity, and gender data on U.S. employees.
This decision is consistent with the Trump Administration’s goal to dismantle DEI programs in the federal government through Executive Orders (EO 14151) signed on January 20, 2025 titled “Ending Aggressive and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Prioritizing them,” and “Ending Unlawful Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity” signed on January 21. These orders not only target federal agencies, but also encourage the private sector to abandon DEI practices deemed "unlawfully discriminatory."
