According to the February 2025 Steam Hardware and Software Survey Report released by Valve,Windows 10’s share has grown significantly, becoming the most popular operating system on the Steam platform, while Windows 11’s share has declined significantly. The report shows that Windows 11’s market share dropped by 9.36 percentage points in February to 44.10%; Windows 10’s market share increased by 10.47 percentage points to 53.34%, becoming the mainstream operating system on the Steam platform again.

In addition, although Windows 7 has been gradually eliminated from the market, about 0.10% of Steam users still use the system. However, since the latest version of Steam no longer supports Windows 7, this proportion is expected to decline further.

From the perspective of overall operating system distribution, Windows systems account for 97.58% of Steam users, an increase of 1.03 percentage points from the previous month.

Linux and macOS ranked second and third with 1.45% and 0.97% market share respectively, but both experienced slight declines.
