Musk and Trump's government downsizing plan is still in full swing, and a large number of federal government workers have to face the crisis of being laid off. Some laid-off federal employees were extremely dissatisfied with Musk and organized demonstrations in front of Musk's Tesla stores. Some employees are actively participating in job fairs, hoping to get out of the haze of unemployment as soon as possible.

However, this turmoil is far from over. In the early hours of Monday morning, U.S. time, New York State Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul placed a digital advertisement at Union Station in Washington, D.C., claiming to invite laid off federal employees to work in the New York State government.

The move in New York State is expected to hire 7,000 public sector employees. Hochul said in a statement that Musk and his team who know nothing about government operations are destroying the government, and that the New York State government will not denigrate public officials and is ready to hire talents fired by Musk.

Sam Spokony, spokesman for the New York State governor, pointed out that some of the popular positions currently open include engineers, educators, health care workers, lawyers, technology experts and public policy experts.

The two parties act independently

The ad is the latest effort by Hochul to advocate for federal employees affected by DOGE layoffs, an appeal she made to government employees in a recruitment video last week.

In line with most Democrats, Hochul has been negative about DOGE's layoffs.

In addition to her, several U.S. state governments with Democratic governors, including Virginia and Maryland, have also launched recruitment opportunities for laid off public officials.

White House spokesman Harrison Fields responded by saying that allowing the failing New York State bureaucracy to accept more bureaucrats and expand the size of the public sector is not Trump's definition of job creation.

What is even more divisive is that some states in the United States that are run by Republicans present a completely opposite situation. For example, Florida is trying to follow DOGE and is also carrying out efficiency streamlining actions within the Florida government.
