Recently, a new amphibian species - Gracixalusweii - was discovered in the Leigongshan National Nature Reserve in Guizhou. This species belongs to the genus Fiberosa, anuran tree frogs, and is the first species of the genus Fiberosa discovered in Guizhou Province. It is also the second new species discovered by the scientific research team in the Leigong Mountain Reserve after the "Leishan Stink Frog".

According to the researchers, they discovered and collected a specimen of a male fibrous tree frog with a unique shape during an investigation in a bamboo forest at an altitude of 1,600 meters in Leigong Mountain.Preliminary observations show that the specimen is significantly different from known fibrous tree frog species and may be a new species. Subsequently, through morphological comparison and molecular biology analysis, the scientific research team confirmed it to be a new species and named it "Weilman's Fiber Tree Frog".

Wei's fibrous tree frog is currently only distributed in a narrow area at an altitude of about 1,600 meters in the Leigongshan National Nature Reserve, and its number is extremely rare. Its habitat is mainly in the bamboo forests next to mountain streams and gullies, and its habitat is unique and fragile.

Judging from the morphological characteristics, the dorsal side of the tree frog is brown to beige, and the shoulders have inverted "Y"-shaped dark brown markings. The skin on the back and sides of its head, body and limbs is rough, the webs of its toes are moderately developed, and the webs of its fingers are minimally developed. Male individuals have vocal sacs and a nuptial pad at the base of the first finger.

The discovery of Wei's fibrous tree frog not only enriches the biodiversity of the Leigong Mountain Reserve, but also provides important basis for the study of the distribution and evolution of the genus genus. However, due to its narrow distribution range and rarity, protection measures are urgently needed to ensure the survival and reproduction of this rare species.
