The installation files for Mozilla Firefox 136.0 are now online. Especially for Linux, Firefox 136 is one of the most exciting updates in recent times. Excitingly, Firefox 136 was released to enable hardware video decoding by default on Linux for AMD GPUs. This is a long-awaited change that means users can finally improve their AMDLinux graphics experience through the Firefox web browser.

Also noteworthy on the Linux side of Firefox 136 is the now available AArch64 (ARM64-bit) binaries. Mozilla is now making official LinuxAArch64Firefox binaries to complement its x86 and x86_64 official binary releases.

Firefox 136 also brings improved HTTPS handling, prioritizing PNG images when copying images from Firefox, disabling cookie banner processing by default in private browsing mode, using LZMA compression for Firefox macOS DMG packages, and other enhancements.

For web developers, Firefox 136 adds support for the "autocorrect" global attribute for automatic correction on editable text elements; WebRTC can now send and receive videos using AV1 encoding; WebRTC synchronous broadcast screen sharing video now supports using H.264 encoding; and various enhancements.

Firefox 136.0 binaries are available for download from Mozilla.org.
