recently,Massive protests erupted at Tesla showrooms in several U.S. cities, with protesters lining up in freezing weather to express their growing dissatisfaction with Elon Musk's role in government. In Brooklyn, New York, protesters held placards that read "Stop the coup," "Musk must go" and "Dangerous oligarchs destroy everything."

There were also large numbers of protesters in many other cities across the United States, including Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Tucson, Cleveland, and others.

"You can't run a country like a company,"Emily Waters, professor of art and design at Parsons School of Design, said,"It should be run by the people we voted for. Elon was not elected."

Demonstrations against Musk have been taking place across the United States since early February. Tesla's troubles don't stop there, as the company's global sales have been declining this year.

At the same time, however, Tesla is facing significant anger from its potential customers.

"The atrocious things Musk has done in the past were directed at his own companies and the people he hired, fired and humiliated," Waters said, referring to Musk's layoffs at Tesla last year and the thousands of people he fired after taking over X.

"We didn't vote for him. It's time for us to wake up."
