Apple is testing an artificial intelligence-generated evaluation function for a small number of apps and games in the U.S. market. This function will preview the evaluations posted by real users, and then the AI will generate aggregated evaluations so that users can see the general evaluation content of the application without checking the evaluations of other users one by one.

Currently, the app review function of the Apple App Store will prioritize the most useful reviews, but the moderate and negative reviews of many apps are not displayed by default. Users need to manually switch to the latest reviews to see the actual review content.

The newly added reviews generated based on artificial intelligence will collect existing review content for comprehensive evaluation. In order to ensure authenticity and accuracy, Apple will generate a new review summary once a week to reflect the latest reviews from users.

Of course, since it is going to be generated by artificial intelligence, you first need to ensure that the application has enough reviews. If an app or game has very few reviews, the reviews will not be displayed. After all, AI cannot be completely made out of nothing.

According to information published on Apple’s developer website, this feature is currently only being tested in the U.S. market for a small number of apps and games. Apple plans to expand the scope of testing to provide summary reviews in more languages in the next year.

In addition, for the sake of authenticity, accuracy and fairness, developers can submit report feedback in the background to revise the AI evaluation summary, and users can also press and hold the evaluation in the front desk to feedback problems to Apple.

Considering that this feature is generated based on the cloud rather than locally on the device, this feature should not require iPhone 15+ to support it. The theory is that any iPhone that can use the AppStore should be able to display an AI-based review summary.
