Recently, police in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, successfully arrested thieves who stole tourists' property during the carnival. However, in order to "lurk" and blend into the environment, they specially dressed up as "Mario" characters. It looked like Nintendo was coming to arrest people. It was very funny.

São Paulo state governor Tarcisio de Freitas shared video of the arrest on social media. Three police officers, dressed as Mario, Yoshi and Luigi, can be seen escorting an arrested suspect into the "back seat" of a police car. The short film also uses music from Super Mario World.

In addition to the role of "Mario", according to the Associated Press, the Brazilian police also played the role of "Power Rangers" (the special photo of the American version of "Power Rangers"), successfully arrested many thieves and recovered many stolen mobile phones.

The Associated Press also added that Brazilian police had used similar tactics last year to prevent criminals from stealing during the Carnival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Carnival begins on February 28th and lasts until March 4th.
