The X platform account "@amuse" posted on the 6th local time, "The Trump team has held talks with Ukraine's main opposition leaders to discuss holding emergency elections to replace (Ukrainian President) Zelenskiy. Regime change may be the only peaceful way to avoid global war."

Musk later retweeted the post and commented, "Ukraine needs to hold elections. Zelensky will lose in a landslide."

In addition, the British "Guardian" stated that Ukrainian opposition leaders confirmed on the 6th local time that they had held discussions with Trump administration personnel, but denied participating in the reported White House conspiracy to oust Zelenskiy.

Trump has also previously urged Ukraine to hold elections. On February 18, local time, after the U.S. and Russian delegations met in Saudi Arabia in the absence of Ukrainian and European representatives, Trump stated at a press conference at Mar-a-Lago in Florida that the U.S. and Russian representatives "had a very good conversation." He also publicly criticized Zelensky for "starting the (Russian-Ukrainian) conflict," saying that Ukraine "could have reached an agreement earlier" and "ended the war," and urged Ukraine to hold an election. He said Ukraine should hold elections in order to consider its future fate. Trump said Ukraine has not yet held elections and is still under martial law. In addition, he also claimed that Zelensky’s approval rating was “only 4%” and that “the entire country has been blown to pieces.”
