Indonesia has issued local content certificates for Apple products including iPhone 16 phones, a spokesman for Indonesia's Industry Ministry said on Friday, adding that the company cannot sell the phones until further procedures are in place.

Previously, Indonesian Industry Minister Agus announced on February 26 that the process of issuing domestic component level certification (TKDN) to Apple could be initiated, but the latter still needs to submit some administrative documents. The Indonesian Ministry of Industry and Apple completed the negotiation process and signed a memorandum of understanding on the latter's multiple investment plans in Indonesia.
