AMD has finally announced the release date and price of its upcoming Ryzen 9000X 3D processor. Ryzen99900X3D and Ryzen99950X3D will be available on March 12, 2025, priced at US$599 and US$699 respectively. AMD's Jack Huynh announced the date on the X:
AMD announced the chips at CES 2025 and shared the performance improvements customers can expect.
Ryzen99950X3D is the flagship model based on Zen5 architecture, with 16 cores and 32 threads. It operates at a maximum speed of 5.7GHz and has a nominal TDP of 170W. What's special about the AMDX3D chip isn't the clock or core count, though. The heavily stacked 3DV-Cache (2nd generation) significantly improves performance compared to the "normal" model. Ryzen99950X3 has 144MB L3 cache, which is 64MB more than the standard Ryzen99950X.
As for the lower-tier model, the Ryzen 99900X3D, it's a 12-core/24-thread part with 140MB L3 cache, 120TDP, and a clock speed of up to 5.5GHz.
Ryzen 99950X3D and Ryzen 99900X3D will be launched at the same price as their predecessors, Ryzen 97950X3D and Ryzen 97900X3D, which will be launched in February 2023. However, unlike the previous generation of Ryzen processors with 3D cache, this generation of processors supports overclocking due to cache improvements. In previous generation Ryzen3D models, overclocking was limited to avoid stability issues.
