Not long ago, Microsoft prevented devices with AutoCAD 2022 from being upgraded to the Windows 1124H2 version due to compatibility issues. As Autodesk releases software update S182.0.0, AutoCAD 2022.1.4 or later has solved the startup problem with Windows 1124H2, and Microsoft has now lifted the relevant restrictions.

Microsoft confirmed in the official document of the latest update that after users install the latest update of AutoCAD 2022, they are no longer restricted by "safeguardhold56211213" and can install the Windows 1124H2 version normally. Users can check the software version through the "About" interface of AutoCAD to ensure that the latest update has been installed.

Normally, it takes some time to lift upgrade restrictions. Microsoft said that Windows Update may take up to 48 hours to detect that the problem has been resolved, but users can speed up the process by restarting the system.

It is worth noting that other versions of AutoCAD (such as 2023, 2024, and 2025) have never been affected by this problem, and users can continue to upgrade to the Windows 1124H2 version normally. This problem only involves the compatibility of the AutoCAD 2022 version with Windows 1124H2.

In addition to the AutoCAD24H2 update issue, Microsoft is still solving other known issues with Windows 1124H2. For example, some users have found that the system will automatically reduce the CPU frequency, resulting in performance degradation.
