If you have recently encountered a situation where the printer automatically prints content, please do not panic. Although this situation is a bit strange, it is a Windows 11 system error. Microsoft has confirmed that some versions of Windows 11 may automatically print content.
The main ones affected are Windows 1122H2 and 23H2 versions, while the 24H2 version is not affected, and the Windows 1022H2 version is also affected. Affected printers include USB-connected printers and printers connected through the IPP Internet Printer Protocol.
As for the printed content, some random text or data appears. For example, the printed output may contain POST/ipp/printHTTP/1.12, but the specific situation may differ on different printers.
Microsoft says this may occur when users power on the printer or after disconnecting and reconnecting to Windows 11. The error report indicates that automatic printing occurs when the print spooler sends an IPP protocol message to the printer.
In order to solve this problem as soon as possible, Microsoft has used KIR known issue rollback technology to deal with it. Normally, changes take 24 hours or more to reach the user end, but if users encounter this situation, they can directly restart the system to force receiving KIR updates.
For enterprise-managed devices, IT administrators need to manually download the group policy and import it. Microsoft has already prepared the policy. IT administrators only need to follow the instructions to import it. For details, please see Microsoft's support documents.
