Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group, revealed that the first mass production of the factory will be air conditioners, and the factory has a high degree of automation. Later, Xiaomi Group Vice President Zhang Jianhui said,The factory will be delivered in the second half of the year.
It is understood that the Xiaomi smart home appliance factory is located in Wuhan New City. The first phase of the project will focus on the air-conditioning category and plan six core branches to fully cover the assembly and production of household and central air-conditioning.
This is Xiaomi’s third smart factory after its automobile super factory and mobile phone smart factory.This means that Xiaomi's full ecological strategy of "people and cars" has completed a closed loop in large-scale self-built smart factories.
In December 2024, Wang Hua, general manager of the public relations department of Xiaomi Group, posted on Weibo: "Everyone knows that our major appliance factory has started construction. Next year we will be able to develop and produce Xiaomi air conditioners by ourselves."
It is reported that the Xiaomi smart home appliance factory signed a contract to settle in Wuhan in August 2024. The foundation was laid and construction started on November 26 of the same year, and the structural capping was completed on January 20, 2025.
Lu Weibing previously said that Mijia air conditioner sales will maintain a growth rate of more than 50% this year, focusing on high-end products, and ASP will continue to rise.
