China’s richest man Zhong Suisui must be in a very unhappy mood recently because Nongfu Spring’s performance is not very good. Nongfu Spring released its annual performance announcement for the year ending December 31, 2024, of which last year’s revenue was 42.896 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%; the company’s net profit was 12.123 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%.

Regarding the rapid decline in the company's performance, Nongfu Spring founder Zhong Suisui stated in the financial report that in 2024, the company was subject to organized and long-term continuous slander and attacks on the Internet, and Nongfu Spring's brand image suffered a historic test.

"The market share of our packaged drinking water products has experienced continuous decline for three months. The revenue of packaged drinking water products for the whole year fell by 21.3%, but it still ranks first in China's packaged drinking water market share."

Prior to this, Zhong Suisui had publicly expressed his hatred for the low price of the Internet, believing that it would affect China's economic development.

"Price is not just a price, it is the life of the product. The Internet's blindly low prices are destroying China's quality and destroying China's economy."

In Zhong Suisui’s view, without price, how can there be innovation? It's hard to make a meal without rice. Without the support of the price system, we can only choose backward production, we can only choose food additives, and we can only choose consumers' ignorance as a stimulant for us to promote our products.
