At around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, a fire broke out at the Tesla store on Via Serra Capriola in the Terrenova district of Rome. Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the fire under control. The fire department said the fire partially affected the building structure in the area where vehicles were parked, but no one was injured. Police arrived at the scene and assisted the fire department in their efforts.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire to determine whether it was accidental or a deliberate act of arson. Just last Saturday, "Down with Tesla" protests broke out around the world. Protesters are calling for a boycott of Elon Musk's Tesla Inc.
Tesla vehicles, stores and charging stations have been vandalized in recent weeks in what was seen as a pushback against Musk. Musk, a senior adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, is leading a series of controversial initiatives, including aggressive cuts in government spending and layoffs at his Department of Government Efficiency.
