Thailand’s Prime Minister Srita Taweesin (w) revealed that Tesla representatives will arrive in Thailand to inspect the location of the factory. Currently, Tesla may be considering establishing manufacturing plants in several countries, and the first location for the new plant will be in Mexico. In early November this year, foreign media reported that Tesla’s Mexican Gigafactory had obtained all the permits needed to start construction. However, currently the company is in no rush to start construction due to the uncertainty of the economic situation.

It is understood that Tesla is also actively conducting investment negotiations with India. In addition, Indonesia also expects Tesla to invest and build a factory there, but so far, negotiations in this regard have been suspended.

Previously, Taweesin said that Tesla intends to invest at least US$5 billion to build a factory in Thailand. The move demonstrates Tesla's confidence in growing demand for electric vehicles and its commitment to meeting this demand globally.

Foreign media said that Tesla’s choice of Thailand as the location for its new factory has strategic significance. With a good business environment, robust infrastructure and a skilled workforce, Thailand is an ideal destination for automakers, and the country has made great strides in establishing itself as the hub of Southeast Asia's automotive industry.

Tesla's investment is expected to have a significant impact on Thailand's economy and booming electric vehicle industry. The plant will create significant employment opportunities, drive technological advancement and attract further investment in the country’s electric vehicle ecosystem.

Sritha has been actively engaging with global conglomerates and has signed multiple agreements to attract foreign investment to Thailand. In September, he met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. During the meeting, he and Musk discussed Tesla, SpaceX and Starlink.

Earlier this month, Sritha visited Tesla's Fremont factory in California. After the visit, he expressed his hope to see Tesla do more business in Thailand.

Previously, in December last year, Tesla officially launched Model 3 and Model Y in Thailand. In February this year, Model 3 and Model Y produced at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory began to be delivered in Thailand. This move means that the company has officially begun to develop the Thai market. (little fox)
