Harman, the audio electronics company owned by Samsung, has announced the acquisition of Roon, a music player platform for audiophiles known for its usability on multiple devices in multiple rooms regardless of brand.

Samsung's Harman acquires multi-device audio platform Roon Harman owns audio brands such as AKG, dbx, JBL and Soundcraft and operates globally. It's been part of Samsung since 2017, and we've seen the company's expertise applied to Samsung headphones and smartphones.

Dave Rodgers, president of Harman's lifestyle division, commented that the transaction is part of the company's philosophy of "creating superior audio experiences" for partners and consumers around the world. Roon CEO Enno Vandermeer said that joining forces will give Roon access to the scale, resources and influence of a global technology leader.
