Readmoo, a Taiwanese company specializing in e-book resources and reading equipment, officially launched the world's first color folding screen at the 2025 Touch Taiwan Display and Pan-Tech Manufacturing Exhibition.e-book reader—— mooInk V.
The mooInk V is equipped with an 8-inch E Ink Gallery 3 color e-paper panel, provided by Yuantai Technology. This is the first time this type of panel has been used in the field of e-book readers. Its color performance is better than that of the Kaleido series panels, with higher color saturation, vividness, contrast and reflectivity, and a resolution of 300 ppi.
According to the relevant person in charge of Yuantai Technology, the thickness of the display layer of electronic paper is about four times that of ordinary OLED, which puts forward higher requirements for folding screen technology. The Gallery 3 panel took 9 years to develop and successfully passed 200,000 bending tests, becoming the industry's first mass-produced folding color e-paper panel.
The overall weight of mooInk V is about 255 grams. It is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy body. After folding in half along the long side, it supports two reading modes: 180° full opening and 90° bending. The folded size fits easily into a suit jacket or jeans pocket, while unfolded it's perfect for reading books and comics.
