Ubuntu 25.04ISO images are now available for download, along with various versions of this latest six-month non-LTS Linux distribution update. Ubuntu 25.04 is a big step forward, shipping with the new Linux 6.14 kernel, equipped with the GNOME 48 desktop environment (support for HDR and Wayland enhancements, etc.), Mesa 25.0 graphics driver (support for AMD RDNA4 and Intel Xe2 Battlemage), Python 3.13, and various other package updates accumulated since the release of Ubuntu 24.10 last October.

Ubuntu 25.04 also features new performance optimization efforts from Canonical engineers, enabling JPEG-XL support by default, NVIDIA Dynamic Boost support by default, various installer improvements, better support for Qualcomm Snapdragon X1 Elite laptops, the GIMP 3.0 image editor, and many other improvements.

This is a great upgrade for those who don't mind that Ubuntu 25.04 isn't a long-term support release.
