Intel is finally taking the Arc GPU performance loss issue seriously and has begun an investigation to identify and fix the issue with older CPUs. The Intel Arc B580 and B570 GPUs performed well at launch, but failed to secure a spot on the charts even though they offered more graphics memory than their competitors. Still, one of the reasons why many people are hesitant to opt for a Battlemage GPU is its lack of optimization.

We’re not just talking about the Intel GPU driver, but an issue where the Arc Battlemage GPU lags behind the competition. Hardware Unboxed was one of the first outlets to point out the Arc B580's poor performance when paired with older processors like Ryzen 2000 and ninth-generation Intel Core processors.

Intel hasn't addressed or acknowledged this in a while. Ultimately, Intel took some time to respond on the forum. Here is the complete news released by Intel:

Thank you for your patience. We're aware that some users have reported that the performance of certain games may be affected when using older generation processors.

We've expanded our platform coverage to include more configurations in the validation process, and we're continuing to work on optimizations.

Judging from the statement, it seems that Intel is aware of this but has not taken the time to optimize performance. Intel says they will expand the optimization to more configurations and expect this issue to be resolved in the near future. However, Intel did not specify when it will receive the new update.

Intel is expected to address the issues with driver updates, as the hardware already performs on par with previous-generation rivals in the latest games, and previous testing on the Arc B580 or B570 didn't see any performance degradation with the latest Intel and AMD CPUs, so it's surprising that performance was so poor with Intel's own previous-generation CPUs.
