Today, two C909 aircraft wet-leased by Chengdu Airlines to Vietjet Air officially launched the "Hanoi-Con Dao-Ho Chi Minh" route. This marks the start of commercial operations of Chinese commercial aircraft in Vietnam. It is understood that "wet leasing" is an internationally accepted method of leasing aircraft. The lessor not only provides the aircraft, but also provides support in terms of crew, safety management, maintenance support and operation control.

Vietjet Air is the first private airline in Vietnam. It mainly operates domestic routes in Vietnam and international routes in the Asia-Pacific region. Its annual passenger traffic ranks among the top in Vietnam.
Vietjet Air’s wet lease of two C909 aircraft will further enhance its fleet capacity, enrich its regional route network, and help the development of Vietnam’s air transport market.

Up to now, three overseas airlines, Indonesian Air Asia, Lao Airlines and Vietnam Vietjet Air, have used C909 aircraft to open 15 routes in Southeast Asia, transporting more than 250,000 passengers.
It is worth mentioning that Malaysia Airlines recently revealed that it will purchase Chinese commercial aircraft and is evaluating C909 and C919.
In addition, COMAC is also promoting European certification and could obtain it as early as this year.
