DHL Express said it will suspend global business-to-consumer (B2C) shipments worth more than $800 to U.S. individuals starting April 21 due to changes in U.S. customs regulatory policies that result in longer customs clearance times.

The notice on the company's website is undated, but its metadata shows it was written on Saturday.

DHL said the suspension was affected by new U.S. customs regulations that require formal entry processing for all shipments worth more than $800. Before the April 5 policy change, this minimum was $2,500.

DHL said business-to-business (B2B) shipments will not be suspended but may face delays. Shipments to businesses or consumers valued under $800 are not affected by these policy changes.

The company said in a statement that the move was a temporary measure.
