Tencent Music Group is negotiating with Himalaya on acquisition matters, but due to multiple factors, the potential valuation has shrunk significantly from previously expected.In this regard,Tencent Music responded that this is not the first time that such acquisition rumors have appeared, and similar news has been circulated earlier. Himalaya stated that it was not aware of the "sale" and its attitude seemed quite cautious.
According to reports, as early as 2022, Tencent Music had contacted Himalaya to explore possible cooperation. However, the two sides failed to reach consensus on the core issue of distribution of management rights, leading to a deadlock in the negotiations.
It is worth noting that Himalaya has made many attempts to IPO in recent years, but has suffered repeated setbacks. On April 12 this year, the company submitted a listing application to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange for the fourth time, demonstrating its urgent need for public fundraising.
