Mozilla recently updated its Firefox browser,Added support for tab groups, a feature Firefox users have been asking for for years. According to Mozilla, tab groups have been the most anticipated feature on the Mozilla Connect community platform, and in fact, they were the first request Mozilla received when Connect was launched in 2022.
The Firefox Tag Groups feature allows users to drag and drop tags into ordered groups and label them by name or color. The list of tag groups appears on the right side of the top menu of the Firefox browser. Tab groups are available starting in Firefox version 137 and will be available to all users by May 6.
Safari now supports tab groups, allowing users to save multiple open browser tabs into a tab group for easy access again in the future. This feature is useful for vacation planning, comparison shopping, project research, and other tasks that require multiple tabs.
Mozilla is experimenting with Smart Tab Groups, an AI option that suggests names and groups based on open tabs, and may roll it out in the future.
