According to a notification released by the customs on its official WeChat account, Qingmao Customs, a subsidiary of Gongbei Customs, recently seized two cases of passengers tying up old mobile phones into the country, and a total of 87 old mobile phones were seized.At about 13:00 that day, a passenger wearing a black T-shirt entered the country through the customs "green channel" at the Qingmao Port travel inspection site. The on-site customs officers noticed that his gait was abnormal and stopped him for inspection.

After further inspection, customs officers found a total of 40 old mobile phones tied with plastic films on the passenger's ribs, waist, abdomen, crotch and calves.

At around 16:00, another passenger wearing a gray T-shirt entered the country through the same passage.Customs officers seized a total of 47 old mobile phones tied with black elastic bandages and plastic films from various parts of the passenger's body.

Both of the above two passengers had received administrative penalties for smuggling within two years and then committed smuggling again. Customs has imposed severe penalties on them in accordance with the law.

Judging from the photos released by customs, the mobile phones carried by these two people are mainly iPhones, and they are basically old models, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone SE 3, etc., in addition to multiple Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultras.

Customs reminder: According to relevant laws and regulations, evading customs supervision by hiding or disguising, and carrying items for which taxes are payable according to law into and out of the country are smuggling. If the circumstances are serious enough to constitute a crime, you will be held criminally responsible according to law.

In addition, according to Article 53 of the "Regulations of the People's Republic of China on the Implementation of Customs Administrative Punishments", anyone who commits smuggling again within 2 years after being administratively punished by the Customs for smuggling shall be severely punished.
