As part of its ongoing efforts to phase out MSDN and TechNet, Microsoft has revealed that it will discontinue Microsoft Community Wiki (also known as TechNetWiki). The company announced its plans to the Community Council, a group of members responsible for managing the wiki, enforcing its rules, representing the community before Microsoft, and more.
According to Microsoft MVP and Board Member Ronen Ariely, TechNetWiki will become read-only on December 5, 2023 (via BornCity):
MicrosoftTechNetWiki is deactivated! This is the official news released by Microsoft! As part of our ongoing retirement of the MSDN and TechNet platforms, we wanted to let you [know] that the Wiki will become read-only on December 5, [2023]. You can still access the content, but you can't edit it.
We are working on archiving a small collection of articles in English. If you have an article you want to save, please save it now. You can use a web archive to ensure they store a copy of your article.
The Community Board has archived some articles in English that you can access using the Internet Archive, other contributors should log in and back up their articles as soon as possible.
Although Microsoft says the content will still be accessible in read-only mode, the company may remove it at some point in the future, so back up everything you need.
For those unfamiliar, TechNetWiki is a collection of various guides and articles about Microsoft products, primarily aimed at IT administrators and professionals. You can find useful information about cloud, development, security, troubleshooting, virtualization, platforms, management, and more. Each article has a comments section where visitors can discuss the topic, add relevant information, and more.
Until the 5th of next month, you can still use this link to access TechNetWiki to read, post or comment on articles:
