An Air India flight from Phuket, Thailand, to New Delhi, the Indian capital, received a bomb threat on Friday and made an emergency landing in Phuket, Thai airport authorities said. A Thai airport official said passengers were being escorted off the plane, flight AI 379, in accordance with emergency plans.

Thai Airports said in a statement that the bomb threat was received on the plane, which had 156 passengers on board.
The plane took off from Phuket Airport at 9:30am (0230GMT) on Friday bound for New Delhi, India, but landed in Phuket, Thailand, after a long loop in the Andaman Sea, according to flight tracking website Flightradar24.
Airport officials in Thailand said no bomb was found on the plane after preliminary inspections by authorities and questioned passengers who found the bomb threat note on the plane.
