COMAC will launch two C919 derivatives: one longer and one shorter

At the 2023 Shanghai International Commercial Air Show, COMAC launched new modifications of the C919 commercial aircraft, with shortened 140-seat and extended 210-seat layouts to meet the needs of different markets. The length of the C919 extended fuselage is about 45 meters, which is 7.4 meters longer than the standard model. The wings and engines have also been improved accordingly.It can carry 210 passengers and has a range of 4,500 kilometers.

This model is designed for operations in the medium-to-long-distance market and can meet the operational needs between major cities in China and the Asia-Pacific region. It has high transportation efficiency and economy.

COMAC did not disclose the delivery progress and time of C919 derivatives, but stated that it will advance the development of derivatives based on market demand and technical conditions.

At present, China Eastern Airlines has taken delivery of two domestically produced large aircraft C919, and launched dual-plane commercial operation for the first time on August 4, flying the Shanghai Hongqiao-Chengdu Tianfu route, the "Shanghai-Chengdu Express" round-trip flight.

According to data released by COMAC, the list price of the C919 aircraft is US$99 million, and the list price in RMB is 653 million yuan. At the same time, COMAC has the ability to mass produce C919, and will reach an annual production capacity of 30-50 aircraft in the next few years.
