PlayStation has lifted regional restrictions on some games, and now players of "Hellraiser 2" may get the "bad review bombing cloak" that was once parodied by netizens - it was this sudden rule that prevented patriotic compatriots around the world from buying the game.
At the beginning of the game's release, any player with a PS5 or Steam account can purchase "Helldiver 2". However, Sony suddenly forced players to bind a PSN account to play, which affected many countries and regions that have not yet opened PSN services.
Although Sony later withdrew the account binding requirement, the game was still removed from the shelves in areas where PSN services are not available. The move sparked a massive barrage of negative reviews, with players even designing a cape to commemorate the event. The game's creative director Johan Pilestedt hinted on Twitter that the studio was waiting for the "right time" to release the cape. Now Arrowhead Studios has once again hinted that the time to fulfill its promise may have arrived.
"I will discuss it with the team next week," CEO Shams Jorjani wrote on the game's Discord server. "We have always believed that this souvenir should be given out after the regional restrictions are lifted. PlayStation has put a lot of effort into this, and it really deserves to be celebrated with a cape."
Jorjani also asked players if they would like to "revise their reviews as a result, but this is by no means a requirement." The Reddit community has begun to spontaneously call on players to update their negative reviews. He added: "It is a great pride for us to see user ratings improve as a result of our team's efforts."
