According to the China Manned Spaceflight Public Account, today,my country successfully organized and implemented the zero-altitude escape flight test of the Mengzhou manned spacecraft at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, marking a new important breakthrough in the development of my country's manned lunar exploration project. This is the first time that my country has organized and implemented this test after a lapse of 27 years after the zero-altitude escape flight test of the Shenzhou manned spacecraft in 1998.

According to reports, at 12:30, the ignition command was issued, the escape engine of the Mengzhou manned spacecraft was successfully ignited, and the ship and tower assembly took off in the air driven by the solid engine.

After reaching the predetermined height about 20 seconds later, the return capsule and escape tower were safely separated, and the parachute deployed smoothly.

12:32,The return capsule used airbag buffering to land safely in the predetermined area of the test landing area, and the test was a complete success.

It is understood that compared with the Shenzhou spacecraft, the previous model of "the rocket is responsible for escape and the spacecraft is responsible for rescue" has been changed. The Mengzhou manned spacecraft system assumes the overall function of escape capture and is fully responsible for the two tasks of escape and rescue.

Through the test, a comprehensive assessment was conducted on the escape and rescue subsystem and related large systems of the Mengzhou manned spacecraft. At the same time, the correctness and matching of the design of escape timing, escape separation, escape ballistic closed-loop control, etc. were verified, and the actual escape flight parameters were obtained.

Escape rescue is an important safety guarantee method for manned missions. When an emergency failure occurs, it can take the return capsule of the spacecraft carrying astronauts away from the dangerous area and ensure that the astronauts return to the ground safely.

The Mengzhou manned spacecraft is a new generation of manned space-to-ground transportation aircraft that is completely independently developed by my country for subsequent manned space missions. The spacecraft itself adopts a modular design and can carry up to 7 astronauts. The performance of the entire ship has reached the international advanced level.

In the future, the spacecraft will become the core manned vehicle that supports the application and development of the space station, manned lunar exploration and other missions. The success of this test laid an important technical foundation for subsequent manned lunar exploration missions.
