According to the official website of the National Film Administration, the "Chinese Tales" animated film "The Summer of Little Monsters" has been officially registered and announced. The film tells the story of an unknown little monster who abandons darkness and turns to the light, overturning the monster's lair. In the process, he gradually realizes what is right and wrong, and is intended to express the theme of the warmth and kindness of human nature.

"Chinese Stories" is a collection of original online animation short films jointly produced by Shanghai Art Film Studio and Bilibili. Chen Liaoyu serves as the chief director and is supervised by Su Da and Zhu Beining. It will be broadcast on Bilibili on January 1, 2023, with a total of 8 episodes.

The film tells eight independent stories rooted in traditional Chinese culture in the form of animation. The themes are all-encompassing, from nostalgia to apocalyptic sentiments, from care for life to reflections on human nature, laying out a world with Chinese imagination and showing the charm of Chinese culture across time and space.

Among them, the first episode "The Summer of Little Monsters" is particularly impressive. It is an interesting work based on the well-known text "Journey to the West" but adopts the narrative perspective of a small character. It aroused heated discussion after it was broadcast.

In the play, the "little pig demon", who is a low-level demon, has been truly replaced by many viewers as "workers" themselves.

Thanks to the overwhelming reputation of this episode, the Douban score of "Chinese Tales" soared to 9.6 points, setting a historical record.
