Red Rock Analytics, a non-patent practicing entity and known patent troll, filed suit against Apple and Qualcomm in Texas over U.S. Patent No. 7,346,313.
According to Law360, Apple and Qualcomm’s appeal to transfer the lawsuit to California was rejected by U.S. District Judge Allen Albright and the Federal Circuit Court. As a result, the lawsuit will be moved to Texas courts, which are typically more friendly to patent trolls..
Little information is currently available about the companies filing these patent lawsuits. The company had previously filed a similar lawsuit against Samsung over the same patent, and the injunction request against Apple was originally filed in 2019.
